Abstract


The thoroughly studied zeolitic framework is ZIF-90 which consist of Zn2+ centers linked by imidazolate-2-carboxyaldehyde. In this compound, the large spherical pores with 11.2 Å diameter are interconnected via much narrower 6-ring windows with 3.5 Å diameter, thermal and chemical stability, so it has been interested by many research groups in synthesis, characterization and application. However, studies on ZIF-90 are still limited, mainly simulation studies and laboratory studies.

This article overviews the situation of synthesis, characterization and application of ZIF-90 since its discovery in 2008 to present, and proposes issues that need attention in the future so that ZIF-90 can be synthesized high efficiency and good application in practice.
