The School of Chemical Engineering (SCE) at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) was founded inÂÂ 1956.
The SCE has 3 proffessors, 22 associate professors, 99 academic staffs, 42 supporting staffs and more than 2,200 students enrolled in 13 undergraduate, 9 postgraduate and 7 PhD programs..
Rankings
The SCE is one of the largest chemicalÂÂÂ engineering schools in the country. Our school consistently ranks among the nation's top public undergraduate and graduate engineering programs.
Students
The SCE is the largest school on the HUST campus, and one of the largest in the country, with more than 2,600 engineering students enrolled in our 14 departments and 2 research central. HUST is ranked 1st nationally in the Scopus index (2016).
Our students can enhance the value of their degrees through various certificate programs, undergraduate research opportunities and by participating in various design competitions. Our students can also choose from more than 40 different engineering student organizations and earn valuable job experience through co-ops and internships.
Our engineering graduates are among the most highly recruited in the country. They typically receive two or more job offers with higher-than-average salaries at graduation. And our graduate students are highly sought after by industry, national laboratories, and academia.
Faculty
SCE has more than 170 faculty members, several of whom are Chemical Society of Vietnam,ÂÂÂ National Foundation for Science and Technology Development, ... members, and fellows of their respective professional societies. They are also editors of their respective flagship journals and are recognized at national and international levels for their contributions.
We have also invested in our up-and-coming young faculty. Since 2003, 15 have received the project from National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED); 20ÂÂÂ have received the project from Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST); 50 have received the project from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). And since 2003, four junior faculty members have received the VIFOTEC Award.
Research
Our researchers have established preeminence in the areas of energy, environment, heath, material and national security. Underlying technologies that propelled the college to the forefront of the above research areas include chemistry and chemical engineering, modeling and simulation, process engineering, materials, and nanotechnology.
Having established national and international reputations in these areas, our researchers have expanded into the areas of sustainable advanced energy systems; national security; health care; and life sciences.
The quality of our research activities is highlighted by the direct impact of our research on technology; volume of peer reviewed research funding from highly competitive sources; volume of publications in high impact refereed journals; number of patents; volume of widely used textbooks; and national rankings of our programs.
