SCIENCE RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES:

- Physical properties and chemical composition of wood and fibre materials;
- Modification of wood and natural polymers (cellulose, starch, etc);
- Pulping, bleaching and papermaking improvement;
- Lignocellulosic biomass conversion to biofuels (bioethnaol, biobutanol, etc) and chemicals;
- Value-added products from forest and agricultural residues;
- Technology of chemicals for papermaking;
Pyrolysic and gasification of lignocellulosic biomass for production of chemicals and biofuels;
- Cellulose-based chemicals and materials.

Formed research group "Lignocellulosic Biomass based New Materials and Chemicals in Vietnam", has deployed and now implementing fundamental and R&D studies on develpment of sustainable production of new materials, platform chemicals and fuels from wood, and lignocellulosic agricultural residues, which can be needed for industry, environmental treament, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics making.
